How to plank a popcorn ceiling? It’s easier than you think! With inexpensive tongue and groove planks from your local home improvement store, it turns an ugly popcorn ceiling into a room with a wow factor!
The master bedroom has “great bones” as they say, but the popcorn ceiling had to be the first thing to go. It’s a nice large bedroom at 320 sq. ft.
Here is the ugly popcorn ceiling before we started, showing our grid lines, marking where the ceiling joists are. Use a stud finder to locate where the joists are and mark them with a chalk line. You will want to run your planks in the opposite direction, nailing them across the joists.
